Imagine being hospitalized and alone, without family or friends to visit you. When you have a family member, friend, or close neighbor come to visit, it is well-received and uplifting to the mind, body, and spirit. This is the principle behind St. Michael’s Angels mission, where we will provide the gift of a loving presence to enable and empower hospitalized individuals in their personal journey to a quick recovery back to health and wellness.
While visiting a relative hospitalized in a South Florida hospital, A.J. Tablada, founder and president, was deeply impacted by what he observed in the intensive care unit. What he realized was that all of the other hospitalized individuals within the ICU, except his relative, did not have any visitors, they were all alone.
This situation moved him to initiate and commence a conversation with the head nurse of the unit. He soon discovered the frequent amount of patients that would go extended amounts of time without visitors. This realization sparked the inspiration for founding our nonprofit.
